The ECDL is made up of a range of modules – each module provides a practical programme of up-to-date skills and knowledge areas, which are validated by a test. The ECDL enables you to develop and certify your computer skills in the subject areas of your choosing and to the level that you need – either for work, or for day-to-day life.

The Industrial Relations and Business School are specially designed programmes to equip leaners with the skills for professional Human Resource Management, Business and Employment Law and Industrial Relations skills and competencies.

Our security Industry courses are a suite of programmes which we have been designed to provide relevant knowledge and a range of practical & theoretical skills to deal with conflict situations and potential threats to personal safety. These programmes focus on personal risk reduction both in the workplace and everyday life.

The overall aim of this programme is to equip the learner with the skills set to commence or develop a career in Employment Advocacy. While the emphasis of the compulsory programmes will be on equipping the learner to develop their skills to work as a Trade Union Representative, either in their capacity as a lay time activist/lay official (shop steward in a workplace) or working as a full time official (directly for a Union), and to understand the role and origins of the Trade Union Movement,

GMB College offers a number of health and safety courses designed to equip learners with knowledge from foundational level to full health and safety representation, inspection and advocacy skills. These courses will meet the needs of those in employment for whom health and safety knowledge is a requirement, those trying to access the health and safety industry for employment or those who wish to develop their skills further to enhance their promotion prospects.

GMB College offers a wide range of workshop courses which provide a route to the mandatory certification required for entry to a number of careers, such as occupational first aid for child care, manual handling, and a wide number of other courses, all designed to be short courses which provide you with the precertification to bring to recruitment agencies and new employers or also to meet continuing professional development for ongoing certification while in employment.
